What We Believe
Article I
1. We believe the King James Version of the Bible to be the infallible word of God.
2. We believe the Lord Jesus Christ to be the Son of God. We believe He was conceived of the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, that He was crucified, buried and that He rose again the third day and after appearing to His chosen witnesses, ascended back to His Father in Heaven and now makes intercessions for us.
3. We believe the church to be born-again believers and part of the body of Christ.
4. We believe Christ will come again to receive the body of the church to Himself.
5. We believe born-again believers should be baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
Article II
1. Members can be received into the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church, having been saved and baptized.
2. Members can be received into the Star of Bethlehem Baptist Church by transferring their letter from another true believing church.
3. Members can be received into the church through personal experience (having been saved and baptized according to Article I, section 5).
Terminator of Church Membership
a) Membership may be terminated upon member's request of termination.
b) Membership may be terminated by the request of member who wishes to unite with another church of like faith by letter of transfer to be sent by the Clerk to the member's new place of worship.
c) The church shall have the right to suspend the membership of backslidden church members (Matthew 18), providing they are brought before the church in Godly love and fashion.
Article III
Church Officers
The official offices of the church shall consist of the following:
• Pastor
• Assistant Pastor
• Sunday School Superintendent (Elected yearly)
• Head Deacon
• Deacons
• Clerk (Elected yearly)
• Treasurer (Elected yearly)
• Music Director (Pastor appointed)
Pastor – responsible for keeping the church in a good spiritual condition and assisting any other officers in caring for the church.
Assistant Pastor – shall work with the Pastor and Deacons in helping to care for the church.
Sunday School Superintendent – shall be in charge of all Sunday School activities, including appointment of Sunday School teachers acting with the help and advice of the Pastor and Deacons.
Deacons – having been elected by the church, shall be watchful of all church affairs and assist the Pastor and Assistant Pastor in caring for the church.
Head Deacon – shall be responsible to establish meetings for keeping church affairs peaceful.
Music Director – responsible for directing music in the church and shall have authority to do that which they deem needful to keep a happy song service in church worship.
Clerk – shall keep faithful records of all church business meetings and proceedings of such established meetings. The Clerk shall keep a membership register with names and addresses of all active members. The Clerk shall be responsible for all church records as to issuing membership transfers as well as incoming member's transfers and records. The Clerk is responsible for notification of newly elected officers. The Clerk shall be responsible to announce all set meetings, either by verbal announcement or by posting on the church bulletin board.
Treasurer – shall be responsible for all monies given to the church and shall deposit such funds and be responsible for all church expenditures. The Treasurer shall give a financial report with each business meeting when possible.
Church Board – shall consist of the Pastor, Assistant Pastor, Deacons, Clerk, and Treasurer with the Pastor as president with the Clerk acting as his secretary. (The Church Board is responsible for all legal aspects of church business.
